Kitten as a chatter predates the IRC version of -squad, being a frequent AIM chatter. After -squad moved, she was reluctant to really install an IRC program and did not join -squad in earnest until going to a Sluggite gathering in NYC with a few -squadders. After that she joined and was made a halfop due to her status as a moderator on the sluggy.net boards. She eventually became a full op and helped run things until shortly before the Great Changing of the Guard, when she was asked to step down as an op due to her unwillingness to lie to people about how she felt about them. She took a break from chat and eventually returned to back rooms to keep contact with friends. During SquadCon I, she officially returned to chat again and had her op status returned. She remains (at times harshly) honest about her feelings about people, but strives to be fair to everyone in an official capacity.

Kitten is married to Tene, and has been since the early days of chat. Rumours continue to fly about whether or not they have children and what their home life might be like. Their anniversary date is a closely guarded secret, possibly because they've both forgotten.

Kitten and Bill lived together for a summer. This was a horrible disaster that is never discussed, lest Kitten start swearing and twitching violently.
